Yeah, but why should Steal This Album even count?

I have never heard Steal This Album, since I did not like their self-titled debut and Steal This Album is just a collection of outtakes mostly from that earlier period (pre-Toxicity).

If you like Toxicity, I cannot imagine why you wouldn't want to hear Mezmerize/Hypnotize, which build upon the innovations of that album and are even better.

I cannot read Swedish, so I can't read the review you referenced, but I am not surprised Swedes might not be able to relate to the album that well. Their music is pretty American. Not in the fact that they imitate any other American bands, but it just feels like there is a lot of American liberalism and an Americanized brand of dada/absurdism influencing their creative thinking.

Disagree. Their self-titled debut is nothing like the later work, and I think the heavier/faster parts of Toxicity are quite a bit harsher than Mezmerize/Hypnotize (and less subtle) Anton (11/29/2005 12:48:03 PM)
